A C19th provincial Welsh pine cricket table with a plank top peg and tenon joints and lower tier for extra stablility. The three legged table concept was developed because most taverns and cottages back then had uneven stone floors and three legs were considered a steadier option – the round top placed on three legs became know as a ‘cricket table’.
This piece has been well used over the years with a few old worm holes, scratches and dents – there’s also a small hole in the top. I have tried to show as much as possible in the photographs. It’s sturdy full of character and charm and will hopefully last another lifetime.
Measures:W75cm x H71cm
