Vintage croquet set

Croquet was introduced to England in around 1850.  This vintage Jaques of London, croquet set contains four wooden mallets, four coloured balls, 3 smaller balls, metal hoops, a four coloured winning post and a ‘rules of the game’ leaflet all in a wooden pine box with rope handles.

A charming set with the original toy maker’s label, there are signs of old worm holes and obviously signs of wear but overall in good condition.
